Alternative or renewable energy, sustainable solution

Due to the energy crisis and the global warming problem there is a need to find new sources of energy that may minimize the serious problems that stem from this situation.

One of the ways to solve the problem of global warming is to review a large portion of the energy matrix used by man until now.  That led to the development of alternative or renewable energy sources that are derived from virtually inexhaustible natural sources, some due to their great energy potential and others due to their natural regenerative abilities. Sustainable Society

From what I’ve been reading in the press and hearing from people about sustainability in its most varied forms and applications, I’ve noticed that most people don’t really know what it means; perhaps it’s a new concept that only now is gaining importance in our lives. 

In these past few weeks I’ve been posting on the blog with the main intention of spreading the meaning of sustainability. I believe that in order to change the world we first have to understand the concept and then evaluate and discuss it, so that we can make people more aware of the need for change. Then we can start implementing change, even when we face enormous difficulty.   See entire post

What is a sustainable residence?

In a previous post I approached the subject of sustainability.  I tried to explain the concept and how this issue will influence our future.  Then the idea was to take a first step in understanding the subject.  Now I want to take a further step and show you what a sustainable residence is.

A sustainable residence must address three aspects: economic, social and environmental.

In order for a residence to be sustainable it must be economically viable for its residents, allowing for low cost maintenance due to available sustainability items and for a higher resale value when compared to conventional residences. See entire post
