Food, in a world that is ashamed and hungry

Of all our afflictions, hunger is the most offensive to our collective consciousness.  We know that much could be done to prevent the images that confront us around the corner from our homes, or to eradicate the images we see from African countries where people literally starve to death. 

These situations came about because of the unwillingness of governments and societies to find a solution to this savagery that resembles the holocaust when taken into the context of a continent like Africa.  See entire post

Discussions about safety have become surreal, since the idea of safety in cities is completely utopian and unreal.  Safety has been the most damaged of all basic needs, to the extent that in some cases the minimum requirements for living in a community are absent.  See entire post
